I was alerted one evening that the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) might be visible in my area, which is not all that common. I continued to monitor the activity throughout the evening and as the numbers increased, I headed out at 1:00am to a location I had scouted earlier as a potential spot for Aurora Borealis photography. I was treated to a spectacular view and was able to capture this image in the middle of the night.
The serene lakeside scene is illuminated by a dazzling aurora borealis in shades of purple and green, with a starry sky above. An empty lifeguard stand sits on the sandy shore, overlooking the calm water that reflects the vibrant sky.
The lifeguard stand and I certainly enjoyed our front row seats for this amazing display!
