Description
While visiting Asheville, North Carolina I hiked up to the summit of the nearby Craggy Pinnacle Trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway at sunset to capture this image.
I reached the summit just as the sun was descending below the clouds and managed to take this photo immediately. I love the way the rays of sunlight are showering down over the mountains in the distance.
When the sunset was over, I navigated back down the trail with a headlamp as the sky darkened to night. The effort was well worth it!
