Artist's Description
I was out photographing the fall foliage in New Hampshire when I heard a train coming and rushed towards the tracks nearby.
The Conway Scenic Railroad train with a vibrant red locomotive crossed the steel bridge ahead of me surrounded by lush autumn foliage. It's a powerful image as the train heads in my direction.
With a little research, I found out this is the snow train that offers excursions in the winter. You can see the scoop on the front to plow the snow off the tracks. Perhaps this was a trial run before the snow started to fall.
