Description
This is my first attempt at photographing fireflies and it was a challenge! They appear during a brief period in the summer season from late June to early July and put on quite a show just after dusk. Finding the right location, weather and timing was critical for a good photo.
This photo is a composite of many individual images of fireflies flying and glowing in the woods near Lake Waramaug State Park in Connecticut.
In the scene, two large tree trunks stand side by side in the dimly lit forest, surrounded by a mesmerizing display of glowing fireflies. The gentle illumination of the fireflies contrasts beautifully with the dark green foliage, creating an enchanting and serene atmosphere.
