I captured this photo of the series of phases of the Great American Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. The eclipse is captured in an arc above the iconic bandstand on the town green in New Milford, CT. The eclipse took place over a period of 2.5 hours.
I captured images of the phases of the eclipse every 5 minutes as it traveled across the sky above the bandstand throughout the duration of the eclipse. Looking closely, you can follow the phases of the eclipse going from full sun at the beginning to full sun at the end.
This photo required a lot of planning and special equipment to capture the eclipse in detail in an iconic setting. I am delighted with the results and very pleased to share this image with you.
