Description

This is a photo I captured of the Merwinsville Hotel decorated for Christmas. The Merwinsville Hotel Restoration, located along the Housatonic Railroad in Gaylordsville, Connecticut, was a meal and rest stop. Built in 1842-43, it is one of the oldest hotels built specifically for a railroad stop in the United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

This image was awarded 2nd Place in the 2024 Merwinsville Themed Art Competition.
