Description
Morning light shines on a view of Lover's Leap in New Milford CT. Legend has it that Pootatuck Indian Chief Waramaug's daughter, Princess Lillinonah, and her lover plunged to their deaths off this cliff. The Chief himself died in 1735. The bridge (spanning the Housatonic River) was built in 1895 by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company. It was used by both vehicles and pedestrians until 1977.
